This week’s pick is an oldie but a goodie worthy of renewed affection. My own affection for it was renewed after a little application soothed a whole lot of dry skin. It is Steamcream.
The tins are a handbag or travel essential. They all contain the same cream, but come in a plethora of designs. Once you’ve chosen, you will more than likely join the army of fans this cream has which range from make-up artists (Lisa Eldridge has written an homage on her site) to A-listers (Mischa Barton and Penelope Cruz apparently take it everywhere).
It is little wonder – the herbal-smelling cream contains some powerful softening, moisturising and calming ingredients from oatmeal to jojoba and, best of all, can be used on your hands, body and face. Made by an Anglo-Japanese team, Steamcream hasn’t changed in formula in all its time on the market, a sure-fire indicator of a winner.
My only difficulty lies in picking a tin. To be patriotic and opt for the union jack or capitulate to my love of dottiness and choose polkas?
